Smallmouth bass are eating heavily in the fall, and the wind triggers a great bite. Several baits can catch them, but soft plastic baits like tubes and darter style baits catch them by the hordes. This video is filmed on Houghton Lake, Michigan in October 2019 while the winds were blowing strong out of the west.
I examine tubes, darter baits, structure, and additional baits like Alabama rigs, jerkbaits, and rattle traps as alternatives for fall smallmouth bass.
