Perch fishing on Lake Michigan is popular but also intimidating for an inexperienced angler. This is not necessary. During the winter, yellow perch come off of Lake Michigan and load up in the Calumet River. Tens of thousands of perch migrate here each winter. Here they are easy to catch.
