Billy Mathews (Dowagiac, Mich.) and Kris Iodice (Oak Forest, Ill. used spinnerbaits and Texas-rigged lizards to win the Southwest Michigan Big Bass Challenge on Van Auken Lake last weekend.
The winners ($310) had 16 pounds, 7 ounces of fish they caught in less than 5 feet of water.
Herman Barry (Hartford, Mich.) and Adam Doyle (Paw Paw, Mich.) were second ($200) with 11-5 caught on jigs in less than 2 feet of water.
John McCauslin (Niles, Mich.) and Brian Spear (Eau Claire, Mich. had 11-4 for third ($100). They fished jigs along the first break line.
Scott and Matthew Davis (Coloma, Mich.) won the big bass pot ($100) for a 4-9 they caught on a weightless worm.
