Conner Tonkel and Ava Godfey (Angola, Ind.) - 1st Place

Conner Tonkel and Ava Godfey (Angola, Ind.) had a good day as newcomers to Casting Couples Tournament circuit by winning the season opener on Lake James.

Tonkel and Godfey ($255) beat out 15 other teams with a mixed bag limit of five keeper bass totaling 10.34 pounds. They also took home big bass honors with a 3.93-pound smallmouth to earn $75. The smallmouth came off beds and the largemouth came on swimbaits.

Ryan, Shannen and 6-week old Baby Blair (Dyer, Ind.) - 2nd Place

Ryan, Shannen and 6-week old Baby Blair (Dyer, Ind.) were another newcomer team that was the only other team that had a limit. Blair's used drop-shot rigs to catch 7.53 pounds and take home $130.

Scott and Patty Smith (Burr Oak, Mich.) - 3rd Place

Scott and Patty Smith (Burr Oak, Mich.) were third with 4 keeper bass totaling 5.11 pounds. The Smith's used drop shots to earn $90.

The Next CastingCouples tournament is June 3rd at Magician Lake, 6 a.m.-12pm, $50-entry, 5-fish limit, must be 1-male and 1-female. 

The next OPEN tournament is Lake St.Clair June 17th, 6 a.m.-2pm, $100-entry, Optional 2nd Bigbass $5, 1 or 2 person team (both can be Male).
