Arjay’s Report
Portage Lake bass kept Arjay’s Wednesday night anglers busy with several limits caught throughout the evening.
Scott and Chase Carpenter managed to get just enough extra weight to win the event with 11.70 pounds and they also captured the Jaywalker Restaurant junk fish pot with a 7-pound pike. They fished jigs along weedlines.
John Miller and Ashley Gibson garnered second with 11 pounds and had the second biggest bass of the night, a 3.38-pound largemouth, to win the BAFA Fishing Award. They fished weed flats with jigs.
Lester Hochstetler and Andrew (no last name provided) were third with 10.48 pounds caught by fishing jigs in 10 to 14 feet.
Fourth went to Tim and Hunter Gillies with 9.84 pounds. They fished spinnerbaits.
Noah Chambers and Jacob Meeker were fifth with 9.66 pounds and they also weighed in the Tackle Shack LLC big bass of the night with a 4.09-pound largemouth.
Maverick Express gas cards for first out of the money with 9.20pounds went to Maynard Hochstetler and Edward Bontrager while the Michiana Outdoors News tackle pack was won by Ryan Hershberger who fished solo with 9.18 pounds.
Braxton Bellew won the Str8-Up Mounts lucky dog pot and the $50 Gas card side pot winners were Tim Tucker and George N Jody Musall.
