Starboard Choice Marine will host its annual Dave Johnson Memorial Polar Bear Tournament Nov. 30 on the St. Joseph River.
The steelhead-only contest will run from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. with weigh-in at 2 p.m. at Merrifield Park. Entry fee is $10 with an optional, bonus $5 big fish pot. Cash prizes will be paid to the angler who weighs in the heaviest fish.
Anglers can fish anywhere on the St. Joseph River between the Twin Branch Dam to the railroad bridge in St. Joseph, Mich. but no fish caught from tributaries are allowed. Fishing is on the honor system and anglers cant start fishing until 7 a.m. and all lines must be pulled at 1 p.m., unless a fish has been hooked at quitting time.
