Fifty-five teams participated in what turned out to be a terrible bit. Of those 55 teams, only 6 limits were brought to the scales! The event was dominated by bed fish. Mike Klavinski (Hudson, Ind.) and Darwin Griva (Angola, Ind.) landed 14.47 pounds of smallmouth to win $816 in a tough R&B Circuit tournament on Lake James last weekend.

The event was dominated by bedding fish and only six limits were caught by the 55 teams participating.

The winners caught all of their fish in the first hour and without a functional outboard motor. The fish came from spawning beds and fell for crawfish-colored tubes with 1/8 ounce tube jigs.

Ken Plencner (South Bend) and Neil Vanderbeizen (Otsego, MI) also caught bedding smallmouth in shallow water on tubes and Erie Darters to finish second ($525) with 10.59 pounds.

Andy Buss (North Liberty) and Mark Fennell (LaGrange, Ind.) weighed 10.21 pounds for third ($379). They used D's Lures tubes and drop shot rigs on beds.
