Strike King Report
In 1964, a small-town angler with a creative spirit began building a revolutionary new lure out of his garage in Memphis, Tenn. He used handmade skirts and safety pins to fashion what he called the “New Original Strike King Bass Lure,” with a single, spinning blade. The old catalog pictures of this wire-framed piece of fishing history are reminiscent of a lure that is in virtually every tackle box in the country today. But 55 years ago, it was not called a spinnerbait. It was simply called the Strike King.
Lowrance has released a software update which introduces the new Ghost 360 feature and new compatibility for NAC-2 and NAC-3 autopilots.
The latest software update unlocks the Ghost 360 for users of the Ghost® Trolling Motor with Active Imaging 3-in-1 nosecone, which offers anglers a high resolution 360-degree detailed image around their boats. This new capability utilizes automatic steering rotation of the Ghost Trolling Motor, allowing anglers to pinpoint key structure and targets in a 360-degree view of the bottom and the ability to show both standing structure and structure that is laying on the bottom. This new feature is available on all Ghost compatible multi-function displays (MFD), which includes the Elite FS™, HDS Carbon and HDS LIVE™.
Anglers looking for a convenient storage option for soft plastics and other bulky items like phones, wallets and sunglasses won’t have to look very far thanks to the new Plano Stowall pouches.
New from Plano, the Stowall features a transparent design that allows for easy identification of contents and a waterproof closure to help keep contents dry.
When walleye, bass, pike and other species head deeper, it’s time to pull out the new Deep Wiggle Wart.
Boasting the Original Wiggle Wart’s time-tested, proven action, Storm’s newest bait delivers deep-fish satisfaction. The Deep Wiggle Wart triggers big bites in water depths from 11 to 13 feet.
“Being able to get down there in that strike-zone with that deeper profile – that’s a huge deal,” said Rapala Pro Jacob Wheeler, a four-time Major League Fishing Bass Pro Tour winner. “This Deep Wiggle Wart – it’s a fish-catcher. You just know when you pick it up, you’re going to get a bite.”
“You throw that Wart in the spring and the winter – you see everybody go to it,” said Rapala Pro Gerald Swindle, 2016 Bassmaster Angler of the Year.
