Big bass bitin'

The big bass were biting on Juno Chain-Eagle lakes during a recent Michiana Weeknight Tournament Series event recently. The group held a big bass/little bass contest in which only the single largest bass caught and smallest legal bass caught would win cash prizes. Shown here are big bass winners Kris Thornton (Osceola) and Ron Fabiszak (South Bend) who won with a 6.14 but also brought in a 5.22 and another quality bass they caught on crankbaits off Juno in 12 feet of water. Dave Clark (in background) and Cole Clark (Edwardsburg) were second with a 3.77 they caught on Eagle in 2 feet of water on watermelon Senkos. Larry and Bo Thomas (Edwardsburg) won the smallest keeper bass prize with a 1.27 pound largemouth caught on Eagle. Tournament officials said there were several other bass caught during the event that weighed just under 3 pounds.
