Robert Hayes (Angola) and Jim Betts (Ft. Wayne) won the Hoosier Pro event on Lake Wawasee last week with a limit weighing 8.63 pounds.

The winners ($836) caught their fish on jigs in 2 to 6 feet of water. The second place team Paul Hollabaugh and Don Bobay (Ft. Wayne) also had a limit weighing 7.68 pounds caught on drop-shot rigs in 20 feet. Joe Gregory and Mike Malone (Macy, Ind.) were third with 7.18 pounds taken on tubes and wacky worms fished in and around docks and seawalls.

Dave Geimer (Ft. Wayne) and Jim DeLauder (Auburn) were fourth with 7.04 pounds, including Big Bass of the Tournament, a 2.70 pounder. They used topwaters, crankbaits and jigs.

  The next tournament will be Sept. 9 on the St. Joseph River at Maggies. Registration starts at 6 a.m. Entry Fee is $110 and includes Big Bass Pot.

Anglers Choice will hold its event Sept. 15 at Maggies on the river. Entry fee is $160, plus a $35 membership fee per member. Call Mitch Hayes, 219-716-4808for details.
