Trevor Paulos and Jason Harvath (South Bend) won the Southwest Michigan Anglers Club tournament on Austin Lake last weekend.

The winners had five bass weighing 9.83 pounds caught on tube jigs.

Ron Nelson (Mishawaka) was second with 9.06 pounds, including the biggest bass of the event (4.14) caught on jigs while Scott Crocker and Chad Worvey (Niles) were third with 6.24 pounds caught on crankbaits and wacky worms.

In the Wednesday night event on Diamond Lake, Rick Kedik and Crocker (Niles) won with an 11.54-pound limit that included the big bass, weighing 3.40 pounds. They used Poor Boys Tubes and topwater lures. Jim Meadows and Ron Fabisak (South Bend) were second with 9.26 pounds caught on crankbaits while Horvath fished alone and had 8.77 pounds caught on jigs.

SMAC is switching its Aug. 5 Benton Harbor tournament to Lake of Woods in Decatur, Mich. due to low river water levels.
