Loren Crosbie caught 11.35 pounds on jigs and swimbaits to win the Southwest Michigan Anglers Club (SMAC) at Fish Lake (Marcellus, Mich.) last weekend.
John and Robert Davis were second with 9.92 pounds caught on jigs around docks. They also had big bass of the tournament, a 3.88 pounder.
Brain and Renée Hensley were third with 9.20 pounds caught on swim jigs while Jason Dittmar and Dave Eggers were fourth with 8.77 pounds caught on topwaters and jigs.
Robert Pereira and Brian McNeal sacked up 15.03 pounds to win the R&B Circuit Super Tournament on Webster Lake recently.
They pocketed $1,320 plus a bonus $110 for having the second biggest bass, a 4.64-pound largemouth.
Derek Molnar and Brian Molnar were second ($700) with 14.89 and Gary Gaff and Bill Sutton were third ($300) with 14.62 pounds.
Arjay’s Report
The power couple of Todd Mason and Edie Wilkinson hauled in a 12.98-pound limit of largemouth to win the Arjay’s Weeknight tourney on Klinger last week.
There were 10 limits among the 29 competing teams.
Mason and Wilkinson’s bag was topped with the Tackle Shack Big Bass, a 3.60 pounder. They found their fish by using jigs and swim baits around docks in 1-2 feet of water.
Steve and Amy Martin were second with a limit of largemouth weighing 8.52 pounds, caught on jigs and tubes in 20 feet of water.
Scott Carpenter and Brandon Flowers had 4 largemouth and 1 smallmouth for 8.16 pounds, good for third place, while John and Ashley Miller were fourth with five largemouth weighing 8.12, caught on jigs around docks.
Chris Bundy and Ryan Miller had a largemouth limit weighing 8.06 for fifth and Ryan Hershberger and Dale Raber sixth with 7.76 pounds.
The Clear H2O “first out of the money” spot went to Jared Yoder and David Ringler with five bass weighing in at 7.02. They also won the Jaywalker Junk Fish prize with a rock bass weighing in at 1.00.
This week’s event is at Portage Lake. Hours are 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The St. Joe Valley Bassmasters Youth Tournament is a good place to get your children fired up about fishing.
The 44th annual event, cancelled last year due to covid, will be held on the banks of Worster Lake Aug. 14 in Potato Creek State Park.
It’s slated to start promptly at 9 a.m. and ends at 11 a.m. The event is free to kids ages 4 to 14, although you will have to pay the state park fee to get on the grounds.
Starboard Choice Report
Todd Mason and Edie Wilkinson caught the only limit to win the Starboard Choice Big Bass Challenge on the St. Joseph River at Constantine Sunday.
The winners had 7 pounds, 15 ounces caught on a toad, Texas-rigged craw and a jig in 8 feet of water.
Chuck Powell and Louie Stout were second with 7-9 caught on jigs around pads and arrowheads while Don Miles and Gary Scheetz were third with 4-5.
Miles and Scheetz also won the big bass pot with a 3 pounder. They caught their fish on a frog and a jig.
