Louie Stout is a Hall of Fame outdoors journalist who spent 17 years as a fulltime newspaper reporter before launching a freelance writing career. His outdoors columns have appeared weekly in the South Bend Tribune and previously in the Goshen News, Michigan City News-Dispatch, and Kokomo Tribune. He has worked as a senior writer for Basssmaster and BASS Times magazines for two decades as a tournament reporter, columnist and feature writer. He was inducted into Bass Fishing Hall of Fame in 2017, the National Freshwater Hall of Fame as a Legendary Communicator in 2005, and the recipient of the Homer Circle Fishing Communicator Award in 2013.
Stout also has co-authored three of the nation’s bestselling books with bass fishing champion Kevin VanDam from Kalamazoo, Mich.
The Kokomo, Ind. native lives on a small lake in southwest Michigan.
