Classic coverage expands; live action footage to be provided on internet.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The GEICO Bassmaster Classic presented by GoPro next week on Lake Hartwell, South Carolina, is expected to become the most widely watched and thoroughly covered fishing event in history, B.A.S.S. officials predict.

“It will certainly be covered in more different ways than previous Classics, which historically have reached more fishing fans than any other tournament,” said Jim Sexton, VP/Digital for B.A.S.S. “With new live coverage of fishing action on Bassmaster.com and advances in content for mobile devices, we’re hoping to surpass 1 million unique visitors on our website alone.”

The 2014 Classic on Lake Guntersville attracted 979,000 unique visitors to the site, and they generated a total of 33 million page views in February 2014, including 22 million during Classic Week.

Watch the Bassmaster Classic Finals at Beef O’Brady’s

Rick Kedik’s 8th annual Bassmaster Classic Party at Beef O’Brady’s in Granger will be held Feb. 22 and the public is invited.

The get-together is open to anyone who would like to watch live viewing of the final Bassmaster Classic weigh-in. The Classic is held on Lake Hartwell, S.C. Feb. 20-22.

Although the ESPN TV production won’t be viewed until later, Beef O’Brady’s will livestream the online production in a banquet room that has two large screen TVs. The restaurant will supply free chips and salsa.

In addition, Clear H2o will be on hand displaying the latest in Michiana bass tackle and anglers are encouraged to bring tackle to sell or swap. Tournament groups will be passing out fliers for contests slated for this year. For more information, call Kedik at 269-240-4917.
