Savage Gear has released the Savage Gear 3D Bluegill Line Thru Swimbait, designed to mimic the natural movements of a struggling bluegill.

The multi-jointed swimbait delivers an ultra-realistic swimming action that features a unique hook release system, allowing the feathered treble hook to detach from the belly slot upon hookset—ensuring optimal hook penetration and reducing lost fish.

Derived from actual bluegill and crappie scans, its photo-realistic colors bring an unmatched level of realism, while the multi-jointed body creates an enticing, fluid swimming motion whether retrieved steadily, paused, or fished as a wakebait.

The six-inch bait is available in four ultra-natural color patterns. It’s built with both top and bottom hook rigging options, allowing anglers to adjust their presentation based on structure, cover, and fish behavior.

Savage 3D Soft Shine Glide Bait
Savage 3D Soft Shine Glide Bait

Savage Gear has introduced the Savage Gear 3D Soft Shine Glide 7-inch Glide Bait—a meticulously engineered bait designed to tempt even the wariest predators.

Featuring a hyper-realistic swimming and gliding action, this lure mimics the natural movements of a fleeing baitfish, making it an irresistible target for big fish lurking within cover.

Built for versatility, it was designed to excel on medium to fast retrieves, activating the natural tail kick that triggers aggressive strikes. When paused on a steady retrieve, the bait subtly wanders to the side, mimicking an inquisitive or injured fish—an easy meal for opportunistic predators. The innovative line-thru treble system, paired with a modified, feathered hook, tucks neatly into the molded belly slot, ensuring the hook stays secure until a fish is hooked. Once engaged, the hook dislodges, improving landing ratios and preventing leverage that could cause lost fish.

“The Savage Gear 3D Soft Shine Glide is a great alternative for glide bait anglers,” said Adam Ott, Savage Gear Brand Manager. “Its ability to deliver both a steady, natural swim and a dynamic walk-in-place action gives anglers the versatility they need to entice fish in any situation. Whether you're fishing around docks, laydowns, or open water, this bait is designed to call fish out of hiding and provoke explosive strikes."

Perfect for targeting trophy bass, pike, and other predatory fish, the 3D Soft Shine Glide excels in a variety of presentations. Anglers can work it with a chop/twitch cadence to create an erratic, walk-in-place action just beneath the surface—ideal for drawing in fish from a distance. Available in eight lifelike colors, this lure combines realism, innovation, and effectiveness to make it an essential tool for serious anglers looking to land their next big catch.

SAVAGE GEAR 3D SOFT SHINE GLIDE – KEY FEATURES:

  • Line-thru construction
  • Feathered treble on a line thru rigger
  • Available in 8 ultra-realistic colors

Size: 7-inch

Daiwa Report

Daiwa’s Presso Rave2 Spoon
Daiwa’s Presso Rave2 Spoon

Advancements in fishing spoons pretty much ended during the Reagan administration. Right?

Not so fast… For decades, DAIWA has been refining and improving these timeless tools. And now, the new PRESSO RAVE2further advances what it means to be a spoon.

“The Rave2 features a distinctive teardrop shape and deep curvature,” said Daiwa Field Marketing Manager, Chris Martin. “The combination creates a wide kick and subtle rolling action, even on a slow retrieve.”

Think about those old-school spoons and how they y twist and flip with no particular purpose or emulation of any living creature. It’s because most aren’t balanced or shaped to do anything other than tumble around. Conversely, Daiwa’s Presso Rave2 is engineered to stably swim with an alluring action.

The impressive spoon retrieves with its arced, convex side skyward and cupped, concave side always facing down. This gives the Rave`2 a steady side-to-side swim, kicking just enough under-belly to reveal its two-tones to fascinated fish.

This consistent action occurs whether tracking just beneath the surface or deeper in the water column.

“Let the spoon sink to your chosen depth and know that it’ll swim exactly the same as when it’s running high,” said Martin.

The PRESSO RAVE2 comes in three weights: 2.2g/29.25mm (1.15-inches), 2.8g/29.25mm (1.15-inches), and 3.5g/34.66mm (1.36-inches). This lets you customize for depth ranges without altering the size of the spoon.

DAIWA also affixed a single, slender, and especially sharp hook with a micro-barb. “The purpose of the specialized barb is for quick releases without damaging the fish,” said Martin.

Martin says the PRESSO RAVE2is purposed for trout, but also efficient on panfish. “Fishing for stocked trout in lakes and ponds is growing in popularity, and precision casting spoons offer a great alternative to soaking marshmallows or other stagnant baits. Plus, larger trout are more apt to hit a lure. It’s also a fun and interactive way to cast for crappies and aggressive bream.”

The puny powerhouse spoon performs well in trout infested rivers and streams as well, offering a prime option to inline spinners.

PRESSO RAVE2 FEATURES:

  • Designed for trout and panfish
  • Deep curvature for extreme side-to-side action
  • Tracks straight and consistent
  • Fishable at all depths
  • Sharp hook with micro-barb for quick releases
  • SIZES: 2.2g/29.25mm (1.15-inches), 2.8g/29.25mm (1.15-inches), and 3.5g/34.66mm (1.36-inches)
  • COLORS: DAY N NIGHT, MOCHA MAGMA, MATTE LIME YELLOW, PINK YAMAME, WHITE YAMAME, MARIGOLD, and SNOW GLOW

Suggested retail is $8.99.
