Cash Donations Boost Sportsmen Against Hunger Program

Thanks to the generosity of many hunters and anglers, Michigan food banks and kitchens will have more fresh venison for meals provided to their visitors.
During the 2013-14 year, Sportsmen Against Hunger (www.sportsmenagainsthunger.org) received more than $50,000 – a record amount – in donations from Michigan outdoorsmen and women.
DNR Employee Rescues Ice Anglers

When two anglers fell through ice Thursday in northern Indiana, a DNR employee sprang into action, leading a rescue effort and preventing additional problems.
The accident is a reminder to anglers that lake ice is becoming increasingly dangerous with the arrival of spring. It happened around noon at J.C. Murphy Lake in Willow Slough Fish & Wildlife Area in Newton County.
