It took big bags to land a top check in the Michiana Fishing League Tournament on Lake of the Woods in Bremen, Ind. last weekend.
The top three finishers among 16 teams had more than 19 pounds despite high winds and cold, murky water.
Bob Johnson and Jamie Czarnecki took the top spot with a whopping 22.66 pounds caught on A-rigs and jigs in 8 to 13 feet of water.
Their sack also included a giant 6.88-pound largemouth to win the big bass pot.
The formidable team of Bill Mathews and Kris Iodice were second with 19.60 pounds, caught on jigs and crankbaits in 5 to 15 feet.
Bryce Amberg and Andrew Hankins had 19.34 pounds to finish third by fishing tubes in 5 to 10 feet.
