Man, you talk about a close finish! It doesn’t get much closer than what the Arjay’s Classic experienced at Paw Paw Lake on Saturday.
The DNR wants to say "thank you" to Michigan hunters so it’s hosting Hunter Appreciation: Deer Drop-In Mondays at locations across the state, and all hunters are invited to drop-in and say hello.
The ClapTailâ„¢ 110 is a topwater bait with a metal prop and back blade that collide when retrieved, producing a unique two-tone fish-attracting sound.

Indiana Lake Trout Record Shattered
Indiana's youngest charter boat captain shattered the state lake trout record by "accidentally" catching a fish last weekend that was older than he is.
Tyler Kreighbaum, 25, owner of Tightline Fishing Charters in Michigan City, caught the fish in Lake Michigan on June 11. It measured 44 inches long and weighed 37.55 pounds, beating the previous state record by about 8 pounds. The former record was 29-4 set in 1993.
"I caught it by accident," Kreighbaum said. "I thought I was hooked on bottom. I was trying to break the line off."
Kreighbaum, his wife and first mate Britney, and five clients were trolling with downriggers near the Michigan state line. Kreighbaum said the trout came up easily, which was another reason he thought he had hooked debris, and not a fish.
Even after landing the fish, Kreighbaum didn't immediately recognize its significance.

The often delayed construction of the proposed public access on Eagle Lake near Edwardsburg continues to drag on without results.
The DNR purchased land on the east side of Eagle Lake Road for access development in August of 2014. Although it remains public property, it has sat undeveloped.
Thats because the Eagle Lake Improvement Association as it has done for years continues to pour money into a legal fight to prevent access to one of southwest Michigans most popular fishing lakes.
