Big Bass Challenge on Juno/Eagle

Brett Gessinger and Mike VanderReyden (Goshen) won the Clear H2o Big Bass Challenge on Juno and Eagle lakes last weekend.

The tournament had a full field of 40 boats - 20 on Juno and 20 on Eagle - on a hot, windless day.

The winners used crankbaits and jigs in 5 to 10 feet of water to win $750. They fished Eagle.

Brian Hensley and Mike Minix (Edwardsburg) were second ($580) with 10-6 caught on Eagle. They used a wacky-rigged stick worms in 4-8 feet of water. They also had big bass (3-3) worth another $225.

Darrin Schaap (Edwardsburg) and Mike Krempec (Elkhart) were third ($400) with 10-4 caught on swimbaits, topwaters and worms in 8-12 feet on Juno.
