Gary Butcher and Scott Smith gambled with a long run to Coldwater Lake from Marble Lake to win the Arjay’s Open tournament over the holiday.

Butcher and Smith traveled one-hour through the chain of lakes to get to Coldwater where they caught a limit on topwater lures by 8:30 a.m. They culled once to finish with 11.88 pounds before making the run back to the Marble weigh-in.

Second place went to Brad Eckert and Louie Hummel with five fish weighing 8.96. John Mann and Scott Garrett were third with a 7.42-pound limit and Heath Musall and George Musall fourth with a 7.22-pound limit.

Other finishers in the top 10 were Doug Schrader and Shannon Combs, 6.70; Neff and Robison with 6.56; Hunter Eckert and Dylan Jordan with 6.44; Steve and Amy Martin with 6.20; Pillmore/Burgess with 6.18; and Jon Walkinhood with 4.56.

Big Bass honors went to Brad Eckert and Louie Hummel with a 3-pound largemouth while the Junk Fish title went to Jared Yoder and Bryce McMillan with a dogfish weighing in at 4.32 pounds.

The next regular season weeknight event is at Lake Templene July 14.
