Ken Holder and John Gibson - 1st Place
A big bass helped lift Ken Holder and John Gibson to the Michiana Fishing League victory at Lake of the Woods (Decatur, Mich.) last weekend.
The winners’ 3.79-pound largemouth was the kicker in their 13.09-pound limit.
John Bryant and Thomas Bauer - 2nd Place
Jeremy Bunnell and Jim Wheeler - 3rd Place
John Bryant and Thomas Bauer were second with 9.03 pounds and Jeremy Bunnell and Jim Wheeler third with 8.34 pounds.
Jeremy and Lane Groves took home the first-out-of-the-money Starboard Choice prize with 7.37 pounds.
A lot of fish were caught but sizable bass was the challenge for the day. Most teams claimed success with Chatterbaits, tubes with Pig Plucker jigs and Conklins Custom Crankbaits.
Fish were caught in a foot of water up to 20 foot and several anglers had success on the humps and weed edges in the lake.
