Arjay’s Report
Arjay’s Thursday Night competitors found tough conditions in the season opener on Prairie River Lake northeast of Sturgis, Mich.
There were 20 boats but only one limit was weighed in and the big bass of the night barely cleared the 2-pound mark.
Gary Butcher and Scott Smith - 1st Place
Gary Butcher and Scott Smith had the only limit. It weighed 7.72 pounds caught on Butcher's Baits stick worms in 5-10 feet.
Ryan Hershberger - 2nd Place
John Miller and Robbie Gibson - 3rd Place
Ryan Hershberger fished alone in shallow weedlines to finish second with 6.18 while John Miller and Robbie Gibson threw jigs near docks to finish third with 4.40 pounds.
Justin and Hunter Kosmerick - 4th Place
Justin and Hunter Kosmerick fished with wacky worms in shallow grass to secure their fourth place money spot with three fish weighing 3.08 pounds.
The Tackleshack Big Bass Prize went to Arthur Lambert & Danny Proud with a Largemouth weighing 2.14 pounds. The Jaywalker Junk fish award went to Jared Yoder and David Ringler with a pike weighing 3.14.
Lambert & Proud - 5th Place
Steve and Amy Martin - 6th Place
First out of the money prizes went to Lambert & Proud who went home with a Clear H2O gift card for fifth, Steve and Amy Martin won the Yoder's Custom Baits prize for finishing sixth and seventh place Gary Scheetz and Donald Miles took home the Michianaoutdoorsnews.com tackle pack.
The next weeknight is Thursday at Portage Lake from 6-9 p.m.
