A big bass was the difference maker for Scott Crocker and Michael Linn who won the Southwest Michigan Anglers Club (SMAC) tournament on Eagle Lake Sunday.

The winners had a limit weighing 11.16 pounds, anchored by the biggest bass of the tournament, a 4.64. They said they used drop-shot rigs and jigs in 3-10 feet of water to catch the winning bag.

Devin Wright and Austin Funderburk were second with a 9.51-pound limit. They used wacky rigs and topwaters in 3-6 feet of water to put their fish in the boat.

Chase Laughlin and Mason Alvarado were third with 5 weighing 9.46 pounds. Their fish came on drop-shot rigs and chatterbaits in 4-7 feet of water.

The event drew 15 boats with 14 limits caught. A total of 75 fish weighing 133.68 pounds were carried to the scales, with six being smallmouth.
