Mike Fletcher and Rusty Robinson teamed up to win the Southwest Michigan Anglers Club event at Corey Lake Sunday.
The lake was on, as two over 5 pounds and eight over 3 pounds were weighed in. There were 58 bass taken to the scales, weighing a total of 106.34 pounds.
The winners had five bass weighing 12.66 pounds. They used Ned rigs and swim jigs in 15 feet to catch the winning bag of fish.
Jordan Smith and Derek Kelly were second with five weighing 12.42 pounds, including big bass of the tournament, a 5.51-pound largemouth. The big fish bit in the first 10 minutes and the duo could be heard throughout the lake as they whooped it up. The giant came on a Pop R in two feet of water while the other fish came on drop-shot rigs in 25 feet.
Austin Funderburk and Devin Wright were third with 11.30 pounds caught on drop-shot rigs in 20 feet. They had the other 5 pounder, a 5.17 largemouth that was big for the lake but not big enough to win the big bass pot that day.
Kory Bloss and John Bolle were fourth with five weighing 9.78 pounds. They used drop-shot rigs and wacky worms in 15-25 feet.
