Casting Couples Report
Jim and Ryan Hobbs had four keeper bass totaling 9.58 pounds to win the Casting Couples Open on Koontz Lake Saturday.
There were 13 teams competing in a day that began with 30 degree air and 46 degree water. No limits were weighed in.
The Hobbs won $450 and an extra $50 for having the biggest bass, a 5.18-pound largemouth, They used Crankbaits in 6-8 feet.
Dan Truex and Tim Pugh had four bass for 7.90 pounds to garner second place ($250). They said they fished spinnerbaits in 6-8 feet.
Third place ($140) went to CJ Delee and Hayden Hensler with three fish totaling 6.64 pounds, They also fished spinnerbaits in shallow water.
The Casting Couples regular points season tournament will be held at Pine and Stone in LaPorte, May 10th, 6:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (EST). Entry fee is $60 and a one-time $40 team membership which goes toward that teams classic entry fee.
