Tube jigs and Darters were the hot baits for Kory Bloss and Kim Vaughn who won the SMAC tourney on Diamond Lake Saturday.
There were 13 limits weighed in by the 16 teams. There were 114.30 pounds total and there were four fish over 3 pounds carried to the scale.
The winners had 12.16 pounds, edging out Mike VanderReyden and Brett Gessinger who finished second.
VanderReyden and Gessinger had 11.69 pounds but they also had the big bass of the tourney, a 4.18 pounder that is a rarity at Diamond. They fished tube jigs and grubs on shallow flats.
Chris and Jay Shires were third with a 10.57-pound limit. They said they got on a school of bait chasers and caught them on topwater lures.
Skyler Traver and Drake Nevins were fourth with 10.48 pounds.
