Arjay’s Report
Man, you talk about a close finish! It doesn’t get much closer than what the Arjay’s Classic experienced at Paw Paw Lake on Saturday.
Not only was it close, but tournament director Steve Martin said that forward facing sonar, which historically a huge player offshore on that lake, wasn’t a factor at all. Only a few smallmouth were weighed in.
“The top seven teams were all fishing docks and weeds in water 6 feet or less,” he said. “Everyone was fishing either jigs or wacky worms.”

The technique paid off for Noah Chambers and Jacob Meeker who won with 16.86 pounds.
Here are the rest of the top finishers:

Justin and Hunter Kosmerick were a hair behind at 16.84 pounds.

Scott and Carrigan Carpenter finished third with 16.82 pounds

Steven Wickey and Jeremiah Yoder 16.46 pounds

Steve Martin and Floyd Wolkins were fifth with 15 pounds.

Chris Yoder and Edward Bontrager were sixth with 14.58 pounds.

Maynard Hochstetler and Marvin Bontrager were seventh with 14.26 pounds.

Tim and Daisy Tucker finished eighth with 12.80 pounds.

Martin Hochstetler and Jonas Troyer were ninth with 12.36 pounds.
Charlie Fouts and Ray Lohr finished 10th with 8.74 pounds
The Kosmerick had the largest bass of the tourney, a 4.66-pound largemouth. Yoder and Bontrager had the second largest, a 3.96-pound smallmouth, which also was the biggest smallmouth caught in the tournament.
There was a tie for third biggest bass between Chambers and Meeker and Wickey/Yoder with a 3.88-pound largemouth each.
