Seth Spaulding and John Davis won the Michiana Fishing League tourney on Magician Lake last weekend.
They won with a whopping 15.41 pounds – a great weight for that lake – and took Big Bass honors with a 5.21-pounder. They fished drop shots in the morning to catch a limit then culled on the docks with jigs. Big bass was caught on a jig.
The tournament was a replacement for previously scheduled on Lake Templene that was moved due to parking issues. The Magician event drew 18 boats.
Bob Johnson and Jamie Czarnecki were second with 12.11 pounds, caught on jigs on weedlines in 6 to 12 feet.
Tanner Banks and Kyle Banks were third with 11.25 pounds/
CJ Stamm and Michael Smith won the critter pot with an 8.55-pound bowfin fooled on a Chatterbait in 4 feet of water.
