Pictured here is the C-Flash .44 cal. crankbait in the new Shad Digital Foil Image (DFI) color that helped Michigan anglers Chris Risner and Tim Eaton win the Toyota Bonus Bucks Bassmaster Team Championship last fall on Lake Guntersville, Ala.
The two anglers, who qualified for the championship through D&R Sports Center Tournament Trail, caught a two-day total of 48 pounds, 7 ounces.
C-Flash crankbaits are custom-made by South Bend native Greg Mangus who builds the baits out of his Fremont, Ind. home. His crankbaits have accounted for several tournament wins in Michiana over the years.
Mangus said the color is one of three new DFIs he introduced last fall in various sizes. Other new DFIs are perch and bluegill.
IN addition, hes added orange craw, shiner and chartreuse perch in standard colors.
Ive also started building a flat-sided crankbait (model .223) in orange craw, foil bluegill and shiner, Mangus said.
The new flat side runs about 3 feet deep.
The baits can be seen at Clear H2o Tackle in Edwardsburg, D&R Sports in Kalamazoo, Al and Bobs Sports in Grand Rapids, The Angler in Hudson, Ind. Michigan Tackle Specialties in Battle Creek, Lake Drive Marine in Coldwater, Pro Tackle Outfitters in Fort Wayne and the Tackle Shack in Middlebury, Ind.
