A new Wobble Trap Course at the Berrien County Sportsman's Club in southwest Michigan is available to the public.

The project was in the works for several years, and finally started to come to reality in July under the guidance of Trap and Skeet Chair Tom Holt, who says demand for this type of course in the area was high.

"The most competitive people I've ever met are Trap shooters," said Holt. "Trap shooters are rabid about the sport. I encourage everyone to come out and shoot, whether they are experienced in Trap or not. The point is to come out here and have fun."

Solar cells run the new machines throwing the targets. A new target house was also constructed as part of the setup, which incorporates four ground machines and two tower machines, throwing targets from a total of six launch positions. The entire project cost approximately $10,000, with donations from members making up a large portion of the cost.

The Wobble Trap Course will be accessible Tuesdays at 7 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. All of the Trap and Skeet Courses, including Wobble, are available during the same times. Groups of five or more can call for an appointment outside of the regular hours.

For the new Wobble Trap Range, costs are $8 for members and $10 for non-members for 25 targets. Costs for Trap and Skeet per 25 targets are $4 for members and $5 for non-members.

The club is located at 2985 Linco Road in Berrien Springs. Additional information about the Berrien County Sportsman's Club can be found at www.bcsportsmansclub.com
