Don’t like Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s latest ruling to shut down all fishing?

Do as Mark Zona suggested in a recent video. Call her Monday. Call the Michigan DNR, too, whose director was appointed by her and should have her ears.

In case you missed it, the governor on Friday prohibited the use of motorized boats. That includes electric motors as well as gasoline motors.

She allows you to fish from a kayak, canoe or row boat providing you go alone.

That means you can no longer hook up your boat and go fishing alone or with your immediate family.

Instead of instructing state, county, local and conservation police to issue expensive citations to those fools on the water who violate social distancing, she punished everyone.

We all know how serious this pandemic has become, especially around Detroit. No one wants to make it worse and most people are doing their part to remain safe. Those who violate social distancing should be ticketed.

But this is going too far. So here is who to call or email, or both: Governor Whitmer’s office: 517-335-7858,

email: https://somgovweb.state.mi.us/GovRelations/ShareOpinion.aspx

Michigan Department of Natural Resources: 517-284-6367; Email: dnr-facebook@michigan.gov.

Call Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as well if you like.

While you’re at it, comment on the governor’s and DNR’s facebook pages.

Furthermore, contact your state representative, especially if he or she is a democrat; the governor is more apt to listen to her own party. Here’s the link to finding your state representative: https://www.house.mi.gov/MHRPublic/frmFindARep.aspx
