First, Todd Moore has owned the business for 32 years and his chief mechanic Dewey LeCount has been there throughout while fellow mechanic Ryan Grote has been there 17 years. In this era of mechanics jumping jobs, that speaks volumes to the shop’s commitment to providing solid service and stability.
Furthermore, Moore Boats is one of the premier Ranger Boat dealers in the country.
“We’ve been with Ranger ever since I took over ownership,” says Moore. “We’ve carried other brands on occasion but today have remained exclusively a Ranger dealer.”
An interesting fun fact about Moore Boats is that it was Michiana’s Mark Zona’s last job before launching his career with ESPN. He has since gone on to build the hottest TV Show and become one of bass fishing’s top celebrity.
In addition to carrying both fiberglass and aluminum Rangers, Moore Boats handles used bass boats and pontoons.
“We take pride in our customer service,” said Moore. “We sell the boat, take care of any problems, winterize rigs, store them and prep them for spring,” Moore says. “We do a lot of rigging of electronics, trolling motors and shallow water anchors. We work with all of the brands of top notch accessories.”
Moore Boats also is a longtime Mercury dealer with certified mechanics, but the shop also will do minor work on other outboards.
