Casting Couples winnersThe Casting Couples’ season opener on Koontz Lake went off with beautiful clear sunny skies but fishing for big ones was tough. However, every team brought in at least one keeper.

Brian Riggens and Denise Warren (Westville, Ind.) caught four keeper bass using crankbaits in shallow water to win with 8.86 pounds. They also took home "big bass" honors with a 4.51-pound largemouth.

Casting Couples second placeThe father/daughter team of Tom and Brianna Wegiel (LaPorte) caught four keepers weighing 5.54 pounds on worms and jerkbaits to finish second.

Jonathan and Melissa Painter (Coloma, Mich.) used white spinnerbaits to finish third with 4.68 pounds and won a tackle pack from D's lures.
