Casting Couples Report

Rick Kedik (Niles) and Jake Lisenko (South Bend) won the Casting Couples St. Clair Open last weekend with 20.23 pounds of smallmouth.

Since it was an open tournament and a fund-raiser, it was open to male teams as well as couples.

The winners ($290) used tubes rigged with Native Pride's new tube jig in 10-13 feet of water. They keyed on sparse weeds and shell beds. The duo also had big bass of the day with a 4.83-pound smallmouth caught in the last 20 minutes of the tourney to earn an extra $90.

Bill Cisler & Steve Penington (Grand Rapids) were second ($160) with 16.45 pounds caught on lipless crankbaits and tubes in 7-10 feet of water. They also had had second big bass ($45) with a 4.60-pound smallmouth.

The father son team of Rodney (Muncie, Ind.) and Craig Fannin (Syracuse, Ind.) was third ($80) with 16.33 pounds caught on tubes in in 8-10 feet of water.

Scott and LeeAnn Sizemore (Albion, Ind.) were fourth with 16.05 pounds. They won a new Skeet Reese Rod.
