John Gipson (Battle Ground, Ind.) and Tom Noe (Benton Harbor, Mich.) won the Clear H2o Tackle Big Bass Challenge at Magician Lake last weekend.
The winners ($330) had 11.57 pounds caught on drop-shot rigs and flick shakes in 10-13 feet of water.
Steve Esbin and Eric Havel (Grand Haven, Mich.) were second ($240) with 11.40 pounds. They also won the big bass prize ($130) for a 4.07-pounder. They caught their fish on Carolina rigs and dropshots in 8-12 feet.
Scott and Matthew Davis (Coloma, Mich.) were third ($150) with 10.74 pounds caught on flick shakes and wacky worms in 9-17 feet of water.
Rounding out the payout were Floyd Wolkins and Lee Eby with 9.61 pounds, fourth place ($100); Herman Barry and Justin Hahaj with 9.53 pounds, fifth ($80); Zach McNary and Chuck Powell with 9.12 pounds, sixth ($60).
The next tournament is Saturday, July 28th on Pipestone Lake from 7-2. Entry fee is $50.
Entries also are being accepted at Clear H2O Tackle for the Big Money Tournament on Eagle/Juno on August 5th. Entry fee is $85 and itís limited to 20 boats on each lake. Takeoff positions will be determined by a draw the morning of the tournament.
