Brian Sharp and Alan Dydo of Mishawaka won the Indiana Bass Federation Zone 1 Open Team Tournament on the St Joseph River at Maggies Landing.

The winners had five bass weighing 7.25 pounds to win $570. They also caught the Big Bass weighing 3.98 pounds that earned them an additional $190. They caught their fish on Zoom Fat Albert grubs, top water lures and spinnerbaits in shallow water.

Fred Zimmerman and Diana Bauer of Granger took second place with five bass weighing 6.21 pounds that paid them $340. They used wacky rigged Yamamota Senko’s and spinnerbaits in shallow water to corral most of their fish but caught their biggest bass, a 3.21-pound largemouth, on a junebug centipede.

The father/son team of Andy and Jonathon Fabiszak (Mishawaka, IN) was third with five bass weighing 6.35 pounds. They collected $230. They used wacky rigged Senko’s and top water baits in shallow water.

IBF members Zimmerman, Bauer and the Fabiszaks’ also earned entry into The Bass Federation (TBF) National Semi Finals on the Mississippi River at Fort Madison, IA October 12 and 13. The highest placing Indiana angler and co-angler at that tournament moves on to the T-H Marine TBF National Championship. A victory at the T-H Marine National Championship will win them the $100,000 Win the Dream package which includes cash, the use of a Ranger bass boat for a year, and paid entries into the FLW tournament trail events.
