Ken Holder and John Gipson Jr. - 1st Place

Ken Holder and John Gipson Jr. teamed up on a cold, windy day to catch 19.73 pounds and win the Michiana Fishing League opener on Koontz Lake last month.

The winners also won the big bass pot with a 5.70 largemouth.

Jeremy Bunnell and Jim Wheeler - 2nd Place

Jim Wheeler and Jeremy Bunnell were second with 9.25 pounds while Kasey Conklin and Cameron Meade were third with 8.82 pounds.

The next event is Saturday (April 10) at Sylvan Lake. There is a one-time membership fee of $50 per angler and $60 per boat entry fee.

Bladed jigs fished in and around lily pads and weeds produced most of the fish.
