Lee Duracz and Terry Burgess used strong current to their advantage to win the Tackle Shack Fall Brawl last weekend on the St. Joseph River at 6 Span Bridge in Elkhart.

The winners had 12.57 pounds, including a 3.05 pounder, to win $1,440. They said they fished Ned Rigs in 2 to 12 feet of water.

Big bass was caught by Dave Hochsteler and Scott Lutz – a 4.14 smallmouth – on the last cast of the day with a Z-Man Swim Jig in 8 feet of water. It was worth $1,000.

Andy Buss and Kerry Frey - 3rd PlaceAndy Buss and Kerry Frey - 3rd Place

Mark Hamman and Nate Collins were second ($1,080) with 11.94 pounds and Andy Buss and Kerry Frey third ($720) with 11.35 pounds that included a 4.04 pounder.

Mason Alvarado and Chase Laughlin - 4th PlaceMason Alvarado and Chase Laughlin - 4th Place

Fourth place ($360) went to Mason Alvarado and Chase Laughlin with 10.65 pounds.

The tournament drew 36 teams.

Tackle Shack’s Polar Bear Circuit will kick off at Duke’s Bridge Nov. 13.
