Louie Stout and Chuck Powell - 1st Place
Chuck Powell and Louie Stout went back-to-back last weekend, winning the LMBT at Cedar Lake Saturday and taking the top prize in the Michiana Fishing League event at Pipestone Sunday.
They won with 14.79 pounds caught on jigs fished on weed edges in 4 to 12 feet. Their biggest fish, a 3.75 largemouth, came on a worm pitched into the lily pages. They also took home two lures provided by Conklin’s Custom Baits.
John Gipson and Kris Iodice were second with 13.85 pounds caught in shallow pads.
Charles VanderDoes and Dayton - 3rd Place
Third went Charles VanderDoes and Dayton with 13.84 pounds caught in shallow lily pads. They also claimed Big Bass Award with a 4.03-pound Largemouth. They won the DogGone Baits prize for being first out of the money.
The MFL will have an Open event Sunday at Hudson lake in New Carlisle, Ind. Hours are 6 am to noon, Eastern time.
