Casting Couples Report
Scott and Patty Smith (Burr Oak, Mich.) - 1st Place
Scott and Patty Smith (Burr Oak, Mich.) won the Casting Couples Tournament last weekend with four bass weighing 10.31pounds.
The tournament start was delayed due to bad storms rolling through the area Saturday morning.
It didn’t affect the Smiths from capitalizing as they also won the big bass pot with a 5.82-pound largemouth earning them an extra $75.They fished Chatterbaits and wacky worms to pocket $255.
Steve and Amy Martin (Mottville) - 2nd Place
Steve and Amy Martin (Mottville) had the only limit of five bass totaling 10.03 pounds. The Martins used Ned rigs in shallow water that earned them $130.
Nate and Alyssa Yoder (Bristol) - 3rd Place
Nate and Alyssa Yoder (Bristol) had three bass for 5.44 pounds. The Yoders used Chatterbaits in shallow water to take home $90 for their third-place finish.
Loren and Carrie Crosbie (Osceola) - 4th Place
Fourth place Loren and Carrie Crosbie (Osceola) had four bass for 5.40 pounds. The Crosbies used zoom worms in 10 feet of water to take home $50 and a bonus $35 for the 50/50 drawing.
The next Casting Couples tournament is Aug. 27th at the Randle Chain, in Coldwater. Hours are 7 am-1 pm, and entry fee is $50. Teams must consist as 1-male and 1-female.
