Veterans Jim Horn and Jerry Roher gave the young guys another butt whippin’, this time winning the Southwest Michigan Anglers Club (SMAC) weeknight event on Diamond Lake.
Horn and Rohr had a limit weighing 11.58 pounds. They said they caught their fish on jigs and wacky worms in 6 to 12 feet to beat out 12 other teams on a tough Diamond Lake.
Chase Laughlin fished alone for second place with a limit weighing 10.26 pounds. He fished jigs and bladed jigs in 3 to 7 feet.
Scott Crocker and Terry Smith were third with a limit weighing 8.08 pounds caught on crankbaits in 3 to 7 feet.
Mike Minix and Dave Hoffman won the big bass pot with a 3.83-pound largemouth caught on a drop-shot rig in 8 to 9 feet.
The 24 bass weighed in during the tournament weighed a total of 47.51 pounds.
