Apparently, Klinger Lake bass don’t care if the surface temperature is 82 degrees. They still tucked under docks during the Southwest Michigan Anglers Club tourney on the lake Saturday.

Billy Mathews and Luke Jasper proved that with the winning weight of 15.28 pounds that included big bass of the event with a 3.74-pound largemouth. They said they fished jigs in 2 to 5 feet.

Gary Butcher and Scott Smith - 2nd PlaceGary Butcher and Scott Smith - 2nd Place

Gary Butcher and Scott Smith used the same pattern to catch 13.50 for second place.

Steve Martin and John Dixon - 3rd PlaceSteve Martin and John Dixon - 3rd Place

Ditto for Steve Martin and John Dixon, although they said they caught their fish in 2 to 20 feet on wacky worms and jigs to finish third.

Ryan Campbell and Mike Williams were fourth with 10.82 pounds, Terry Smith and Scott Crocker fifth with 10.31 pounds and TJ Reed and Ben Harrison sixth with 9.95 pounds.

There were 92 bass weighed in and 11 were smallmouth. The weighin totaled 179.94 pounds.
