A quality bass helped Shawn McDougal and Christopher Stamm Sr. win the Michiana Fishing League tourney at Donnell Lake.
The winners had 10.68 pounds, but 4.68 pounds was in one fish and that earned them big bass honors as well.
They said they fished drop-shot rigs on ledges along with crankbaits and topwater water lures on the sides of piers and points.
John Davis and Seth Spaulding were second with 8.34 pounds and also took the critter pot with a 1.92-pound Bullhead. They fished poppers around docks in the morning and drop-shot rigs in deeper water later in the day.
CJ Stamm and Michael Smith were third with 7.28 pounds caught on docks. They caught fish on drop shots, frogs and poppers.
