Rapala Report
On the heels of its successful launch of the PXR Mavrik jerkbait, Rapala is introducing the PXR Deep Mavrik 110, a new deep-diving suspending jerkbait.
Developed with some of the most meticulous bass pros in the industry, the PXR Deep Mavrik features a long, premium bill that lets the bait dive to a depth of 10 feet – perfect for bass hanging on the edges of weedlines.
PXR stands for Precision, Xtreme®, Redline. The first in a series of elite, professional-grade lures to be introduced by Rapala, the PXR Mavrik is a suspending jerkbait made with the finest construction and unrivaled technical qualities demanded by Rapala’s pro staff.
“Deep diving jerkbaits have become a staple of what we do as bass anglers,” said Rapala pro Ott Defoe “It has all of the features we love in the PXR Mavrik 110, but with a deeper bill. We need a bait like this to get down quick to the desired depth (9 to 11 feet), but stay suspending, right there in their faces to tempt them.”
“It’s one thing to get a bait down to those depths, but a lure doesn’t dance around, you’re not going to generate the bites,” added Jacob Wheeler, Major League Fishing's 2019 World Champion and 2-time AOY. “The Deep Mavrik has this crazy, side-to-side erratic action – that is the difference maker when you’re trying to get a fish to commit to a bait. In my experience, this is the first deep-diving jerkbait that gets to that depth and has that action.”
The PXR Mavrik™ provides premium features, starting with Rapala’s Long-Cast System, which provides accurate, ultra-long casts to maximize time in the strike zone.
The lure’s suspending, head-down attitude mimics an injured baitfish. Hard-cutting, semi-erratic action makes the PXR Mavrik a versatile jerkbait for any condition. You can fish it slow with short twitches to walk the bait side-to-side or give it a quick snap to get the bait to turn nearly 180 degrees.
The high-quality components don’t stop there. The new PXR Mavrik is armed with three premium VMC® RedLine Series™ No. 5 treble hooks to make this a complete fish-catching jerkbait.
The new lure comes in 18 colors – specifically selected to allow tournament bass anglers to best match local baitfish located in some of the nation’s most renowned tournament bass lakes, rivers and reservoirs. These colors include: Bold Shad, Crystal Shad, Emerald Shad, Ghost Minnow, Ghost Shiner, Ghost Sexy Shad, Hot Blue Frost, Hot Perch, Metallic Gold, Metallic Glass Ghost, Metallic Moss Back Shiner, Metallic Silver, Matte Shad, Metallic Yellow Perch, Ozark Delight, Pro Blue, Pearl Sexy Shad, and Snow Storm.
The new PXR Deep Mavrik 110 is being introduced in a No. 11 (4-3/8th inch body length) size, and weighs 1/2 oz. It has a suggested retail price of US $16.99. Visit www.rapala.com.
