The Michigan DNR is offering up to $1.5 million in Fisheries Habitat Grants to local, state, federal and tribal governments and nonprofit groups.
Rooster pheasants will be released on 13 state game/wildlife areas throughout southern Michigan this fall. Releases will take place today-Nov. 14 and Dec. 1-31, coinciding with pheasant hunting seasons.

Hunter Safety, Sept. 15-16: Participants are required to attend both sessions to receive their Hunters Certification. The class will run from 9-4 on Sept. 15 and from 9 a.m. to noon on Sept. 16. There is a $10 charge per person. Pre-registration is required and space is limited.
A group of collectors will be gathering at the Heddon Museum in Dowagiac Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 6:30 p.m.
Everyone is invited to the informal event where lures are traded, bought and sold every second Tuesday of the month.
