Bass pros fish for a living. What could be better, right? Sit down with a professional angler at a  boat show, and it comes out that they do enjoy their gig, mainly because they genuinely love to fish. One perk of the job is that the tournament season doesn’t run all year long, so they do have a true offseason.

When Tom Kline went to bed one night a couple of weeks ago, his 2005 Ranger Bass Boat was parked in his home driveway near the St. Joseph River in Osceola.
When he awoke the next morning, it was gone. Someone had sneaked into his drive under the cover of darkness, hooked the boat onto a tow vehicle and slipped away.

Kline hasnt been the only target of thieves this summer. They have been working overtime in the South Bend area, said South Bend Police Detective Wayne Boocher.

Bass-Oreno turns 100.The city of South Bends 150th birthday was celebrated recently, but it wasnt the only historical landmark for the city.
The South Bend Bass-Oreno, a venerable topwater lure, turned 100 this year.
The Bass-Oreno was patented in 1915 by James S. Olds of Benton Harbor, Michigan. Mr. Olds sold the rights to his lure to the South Bend Bait and Tackle Company shortly after he received his patent. This makes the Bass-Oreno not only 100 years old but it also makes it an official antique.
