Dean Cates (Elkhart) and Robert Cook (Osceola) caught 6.10 pounds of walleye to win the Michiana Walleye Association Shell Petroleum Tournament on Clear Lake in Steuben County.
The winners caught their fish on 1/8-ounce jigs tipped with crawlers in 12-14 feet of water.
Second place Jim Molnar Jr. and Sr. (South Bend) had 4.79 pounds, caught on a slow death presentation with half crawler in 28 feet of water. The lone fish won them the ClearH2O Tackle Big Fish Award. They also were the Trailmaster Trailer winners for being the highest placing team with a Trailmaster trailer.
Rob Burns (Osceola) and Doug Burkhead (Elkhart) were third with 4.20 pounds caught on jig-and-crawlers in 36 feet of water.
Each team received a prepaid Shell gas card and a gallon of full synthetic motor oil.
The next event is Aug. 15 on the St. Joe River.
