Father/son Ed and Steven Szymczak (Osceola) will be talking about this for a long time.

In the season finale for the Michiana Walleye Association, father Ed eked out a narrow victory in the Rocky Enfield-State Farm Agency Classic on Crooked Lake and Lake of the Woods (Bremen) in a two-day event last weekend.

The difference was .19 of a pound.

Ed fished alone to catch 7.10 pounds by jigging chartreuse jigs and crawlers in 10 to 11 feet of water along a combination of weed pockets and wood.

Steven fished with partner Shawn Kintigh (Goshen) to catch 6.91 pounds by jigging orange jigs with crawlers in 15 feet.

Charlie VanCamp (Mishawaka) and Calvin Hochstetler (Lagrange) were third with 4.32 pounds caught by jigging shallow weed beds with crawlers. They also won the Trailmaster Trailer Loyalty Award.
