Edwardsburg anglers Mickey Thomas and Dave Clark captured the 27th annual Lunkers Tournament on Eagle and Juno lakes last weekend.
The local anglers caught 12.22 pounds from Eagle while fishing jigs along the inside edge of weed lines. They won $1,600.
Doug Roher (South Bend) and Dan Frederick (Granger) were second with 11.54 pounds caught from Juno while Mike Emmerd (Twelve Mile, Ind.) and Dempsey Gross (Edwardsburg) were third with 10.64 pounds caught from Juno. Ron Fabiszak (South Bend) and Kevin Fletcher (Elkhart) were fourth with 9.84 pounds taken at Eagle while Ron and Randy Nelson (Berrien Springs) were fifth with 9.30 pounds caught from Juno.
Fabiszak and Fletcher won big bass honors with a 4.28 largemouth caught in the last 10 minutes of the tournament.
Four of the top 10 teams fished Eagle and all of the top 10 teams had five-fish limits. Cash prizes were awarded through 10th place and the top 10 teams earned VIP starting spots in next years event.
