Seventeen teams braved foul weather last weekend in the Northwest Indiana Bass Club Open Tournament on Shafer Lake.
Team Kelly/Vandergraff won with five bass weighing 14.47 pounds while Don McLain was second with five weighing 9.96 pounds. Team Evans/Tilley was third with 8.37 pounds while Fuzzy Dunn was fourth with 7.95 pounds. Ron Dusek won big bass with a 5.03-pound smallmouth.

Indiana conservation officers will host a public meeting with fishing tournament organizations to help them schedule events on Sylvan or Wawasee lakes next year.
The meeting will be Saturday, Nov. 3 at 10 a.m. at the Indiana Conservation Officers District 1 Headquarters located at 9822 North Turkey Creek Road along the southeast side of Lake Wawasee in Kosciusko County.

The 25 contending teams competed on a nasty day that included winds in excess of 30 mph, heavy rains, and temperatures only reaching the low 50s.
The winners had a limit weighing 15.45 pounds caught on wacky-rigged Senkos along a single outside weedline in 5-8 feet of water. They landed 18 keepers throughout the day and won $1,166 for the win.
Jerry and Doug Roher (South Bend) won the Michiana Anglers Tournament Series Classic at Fish Lake near Marcellus, Mi. last weekend.
The winners had five bass weighing 8.54 pounds that included big bass of the tournament, a 3.58-pound largemouth.
Roger Chris (Elkhart) and Jim Clark (Bristol, Ind.) were second with four bass weighing 6.29 pounds.
